Newark’s first lady announces free financial education for city women
Newark’s ordinarily low-key First Lady Linda Baraka is taking on a visible role as head of a program that aims to provide free 12-week financial education courses to 1,000 women of New Jersey’s largest city. “The Newark Women Moving Forward initiative is not just a program. It’s a catalyst for change and a catapult to economic success for Newark residents who want to unlock their financial potential,” Baraka said during an announcement of the Newark Women Moving Forward program last week at the historic Krueger-Scott Mansion.
